House History Project Launches
On Thursday, the BPRA launched their House History project with a packed event at High Road House. This was a great social event for people interested in their house history with lots of helpful information about the project and the house history research process itself.
Nigel Walley outlined how the project would be structured and what the BPRA team would be doing to support the participants.
Our main speaker was be renowned House Historian Melanie Backe-Hansen, who will be giving helpful background on what to look for, as well as colourful stories from the houses we will research. We will also hear from local resident David Beresford, the driving force behind the wonderful WW1 history project that was featured in the St Michael's Church 1915 Memorial.
At the event, we will also be giving more information on the BPRA's project to create an online resource for homeowners and researchers. We will be showing how each home will be given an online log-book to host all the information they find about their house.
Our launch event will be in the club room at High Road House on Chiswick High Road. Attendance is open to BPRA members and non-member alike. The event is free but we ask you to register so we can manage the numbers. If you would like to know more about the initiative please email This email address is being protected from spambots.
